BiographiesAndy LittleAndy Little began working in the financial services sector in 1981. He initially worked for UK Provident and then Provident Mutual, but after 10 years working for large insurance companies, Andy decided to become an independent adviser. During his last 5 years with Godwins, Andy began to specialise in providing financial advice to employees of one of the UK’s largest companies, British Petroleum. His knowledge of the BP Reward Package, Pensions team and general ethos enabled him to build strong relationships at all levels within the company. His ability to incorporate such detailed knowledge of the BP Package into clients' wider financial situation earned him a strong reputation with BP employees. The combination of technical excellence and commitment to client service is at the core of ELCC LLP. Andy takes a holistic approach to financial planning, but continues to have a particular interest in investments, which is reflected in his client bank, the majority of whom have strong Pension and Protection provision through their Employer. Moving forward, Andy recognises the need to move with the times, and embraces technology. Our Online Portfolio was one of the first to be available directly to clients and Andy continues to investigate new uses of IT to enhance client service. Risk Profiling and Cashflow Forecasting are the two latest areas to be added to our Financial Planning "Arsenal". Over the coming years, Andy intends to rise to the challenges posed by the planned changes in our industry. His aim is to drive the company, over the next three years, towards offering a fee based service proposition to a segmented client bank. The primary challenge faced is to do so without losing the elements of our service which are valued by our clients and make us unique. Iain RankinIain grew up and went to school in the Chiltern Hills near his hometown of High Wycombe. After successfully completing A Levels he joined a local Insurance Company, Equity & Law. During his 4-year spell at this company he started studying towards professional qualifications and acquired considerable technical knowledge, building the foundations for a greater and better future. Iain has always been interested and actively participates in sport and general fitness. As a younger adult he served 3 years in the Territorial Army. The experience left a positive and lasting impression and he feels there have been no end of benefits to his career in financial services. Iain moved job and location to join another major Insurance Company in order to pursue a career within a sales role. However, it was not long before the opportunity presented itself to move back ‘home’. Now married, Iain and his wife moved back to their roots. Iain has lived with his family close to the Chiltern escarpment ever since. Although still interested in sport and working out at the gym, much time is taken in supporting his children in their chosen sporting activities and providing them with positive encouragement. He still supports the local football team, Wycombe Wanderers, and occasionally gets to watch the games with his son. He can also be seen walking the family dog in the “hills”. Following two other progressive career moves, Iain joined Emery Little Financial Services as a partner in March 2000. At the date of the merger with Cresswell Cadenhead, Iain had been providing independent financial advice for over 17 years. Today Iain provides independent financial advice to both individuals and companies. Although, like ELCC, Iain takes a holistic approach to the provision of advice, he has particular expertise within investment, pensions and taxation. Iain is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII), Associate of the Personal Finance Society (APFS) and holds the coveted Chartered Financial Planner title. Angela StewartAngela has worked in the Financial Services sector for over 20 years advising private individuals, trustees and business clients. Starting her career with one of the UK's leading High Street Banks she quickly progressed to sales management. Since 1998 she has worked as a professional Independent Financial Adviser. Amongst the London based companies for which she has worked are boutique IFA Fiona Price & Partners, specialist Independent Mortgage Advisors John Charcol and Abacus - formally part of Coopers & Lybrand - where she was regulated in both the Channel Islands and UK, giving specialist investment advise to offshore trustees and clients as well as UK based clients in the City of London. Angela says that she joined the team at Emery Little because the company approach fitted comfortably with her own belief that giving the best possible service to clients is the key to a successful business. She says that her aim is to de-mystify financial services by reducing jargon and talking to clients in an appropriate way and that she sees client education as a vital part of her role as a client adviser. On the subject of knowledge, with the Financial Services Authority aiming to restructure the advisory process and permit only the most highly qualified advisers to offer 'Independent' financial advice in the future. Angela is an established member of the Personal Finance Society, has already attacined Diploma status and is well underway to becoming a Chartered Adviser. She hopes to attain this goal by early 2011. Outside of work Angela enjoys foreign travel (if you call lying on a beach in the Maldives travel), eating out with friends and she is a keen cook. She is married to Paul who is a Sales Director for a software company and they live in the beautiful Hertfordshire countryside. |
